A Modern Platform for Hydraulic Component Testing

ADAS 2.0 is the latest generation of Testek’s Automatic Data Acquisition System (ADAS), providing high-speed multi-channel data acquisition and closed-loop control for new, existing, and retrofitted hydraulic test stands and standalone operations. The system integrates modern PC-based data acquisition hardware, advanced FPGA-based control logic, and Testek’s proven test automation software, delivering a flexible platform capable of supporting the needs of both production and MRO testing environments.

Key Benefits

Reduce Test Times and Increase Throughput

High-speed multi-channel data acquisition hardware captures and processes test data faster, helping operators complete tests more efficiently and keep test stands running at peak productivity.

Test More Components with Greater Flexibility

A configurable FPGA-based control architecture allows the system to adapt to a wide range of aircraft components and evolving test requirements.

Operate on a Secure, Future-Ready Platform

Built on Windows 11 and designed to meet current DoD cybersecurity standards, ADAS 2.0 provides a modern platform that supports long-term system reliability and compliance.

Why ADAS 2.0?

Modernizing the Industry Standard

For decades, Testek’s ADAS platform has been a trusted solution for hydraulic component testing. ADAS 2.0 builds on that legacy with a fully modernized hardware and software architecture designed to support today’s aircraft systems and tomorrow’s test requirements.

This new platform delivers faster data acquisition, greater configurability, and improved cybersecurity while maintaining maximum compatibility (minor TPS and/or cable updates may be required) with existing ADAS TPS test programs. This allows MROs and OEMs to continue using the ADAS platform they trust, gaining the performance and flexibility required for modern aircraft component testing with minimal operator retraining.

Key Features & Capabilities

High-Speed Data Acquisition and Control

Capture and analyze test data across multiple channels to record and plot pressures, flows, temperatures, position, velocity, drive current, and other signals for the UUT.

FPGA-Based Control Architecture

Create advanced test scenarios with flexible control logic, faster closed-loop response, configurable PCU closed-loop gains, and programmable test system behavior using an NI PXI FPGA-based platform.

Expandable Test System Architecture

Integrate additional instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, encoders, sensors, and other third-party devices to expand testing capabilities as system requirements evolve. Eight AUX analog input channels are also available for flexibility connecting external transducers.

Backwards Compatibility with Existing ADAS Systems

Upgrade existing installations while continuing to run established ADAS test programs and TPS kits with minimal operator retraining and maintain maximum compatibility with existing ADAS TPS test programs.

Support for New Aircraft Technologies

Test modern hydraulic components with expanded capabilities including four independent (frequency and magnitude) LVDT excitation channels, increased current drive (ranges up to 1000mA) for four servo channels, support for modern communication protocols, customizable signal conditioning, and two programmable DC power supplies.

The Technical Details

Hardware

Hardware Architecture

ADAS 2.0 features a modernized hardware architecture designed for reliability and long-term operation. The console integrates a fanless industrial PC, an NI PXI FPGA-based data acquisition and control system, options for custom signal conditioning, and a dual touch screen monitor operator interface within a ruggedized stainless-steel enclosure.

Proprietary PCB assemblies were minimized to four redesigned mixed SMT/TH multilayer RoHS-compliant assemblies in an easily accessible card rack. Along with modular COTS signal conditioners, this configuration provides optimum integration with NI PXI FPGA-based DAQ hardware, improving serviceability and reducing the risk of hardware obsolescence. An optional self-test and calibration kit is also available.

Software

Software Platform

ADAS 2.0 operates on Testek’s TestEx architecture and supports both the existing ADAS software environment and the newer TestEx NxG platform, Testek’s flagship software platform running on all modern Testek products. Continuously upgraded over the last four decades based on industry standards and customer feedback, TestEx NxG includes compliance to DoD cyber requirements, extensive support for customization and capability extensions by end users, as well as support for industry standard test executive programs, including NI TestStand. This architecture allows ADAS 2.0 systems to continue running existing ADAS TPS kits, ensuring continuity for end users with minimal operator re-training.

Options

Optional Capabilities for Expanded Testing
